Oakley Named President

Abingdon, Va. — G. David Oakley, Jr. has been named President, Hapco Pole Products, replacing Bob Gunn, who accepted an executive position with Hapco's corporate ownership.

Since 2002, Oakley has served as Vice President Product Management where his primary responsibilities included managing the sales, marketing, engineering, and customer service functions for Hapco's aluminum and steel pole products, as well as the American Flagpole division.

Oakley joined Hapco in 1998, as Business Development Manager, responsible for cultivating and developing new products and business opportunities. In 1999, he assumed the additional responsibility for marketing functions as Marketing Manager. Oakley was named Marketing and Sales Manager in 2000 as his functional responsibility was expanded to also include sales and customer service, and in 2002 he accepted the position of Vice President of Product Management.

Oakley began his career with the Maytag Corporation after graduating from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, Marketing in 1989. During his time with Maytag, Oakley served in various management roles in Houston and Los Angeles, before transferring to a corporate business development position in 1996.

Oakley will assume his new role as Hapco President effective September 1, 2007.

Ron Thorne, Hapco Vice President and Controller, has accepted the position of E&P Group Vice President & CFO.

Bob Walls, Hapco Vice President Operations, has accepted the position of President with a DKM company within the E&P Group.
